Description
The current economic crisis is confronting symphony orchestras, opera companies, chamber music societies and small ensembles with their greatest challenge - and their greatest opportunity in decades: How to survive and prosper in a time when technological advances are redefining how we transmit, buy and market classical music and opera. Traditional funding and marketing models are collapsing with the decline of print media and the sweeping changes in the recording industry.  But the vast opportunity to harness new technologies seems infinite and innovators in the performing arts have created strategies to broaden their audiences while creating new revenue streams.  Now, can we look to technology and its revenues as a source of financial stabilization for the arts?
