Description
Set in Tom Douglas' fabulous Palace Ballroom, The Good Life events begin with cocktails, tasty treats & mingling, and are highlighted by an onstage conversation and interview with the author, led by Warren Etheredge of The Warren Report.  Following the talk is a lively audience question and answer period, and then Marchese will personalize your book.  Appetizers and a copy of 'Honeybee: Lessons From an Accidental Beekeeper' are included in the $35 ticket price. A cash bar is available, and the evening ends with a Theo Chocolate confection.

Ten years ago, Marina Marchese fell in love with bees during a tour of a neighbor's hives. Surprised to find that allowing docile honeybees to crawl across her hands instilled a serene tranquility and comfort, Marina quit her job, acquired her own bees, built her own hives, harvested honey, earned a certificate in apitherapy (the use of honeybee products in medicinal healing) and eventually opened her own business.  Today, Red Bee Honey sells artisanal honey and honey-related products to shops and restaurants all over the country.  This is one woman's story, but it is also bursting with fascinating and practical information about all aspects of bees, beekeeping and honey, including: building a beehive; pollination and its importance in sustaining life; harvesting honey; healing with honey and apitherapy; and much more.  Recipes for food, drink and personal care products made of honey are included throughout--and Marchese will lead us in an artisanal honey tasting at the conclusion of her interview that evening.
With the challenge of colony collapse disorder threatening the future of honeybees today, spend an evening learning about these amazing creatures and how much they contribute to our lives.
